New Zealand residency through direct investment.

New Zealand's Active Investor Plus (AIP) programme grants residency through a qualifying direct investment of at least NZD $5 million (Growth Category). The direct investment must be made and AIP approval obtained first. Only after AIP approval may visa holders explore a pathway to acquire high-value residential property in New Zealand — subject to the Overseas Investment Act and relevant consent requirements.

This means the total minimum financial commitment for an investor seeking both AIP residency and a New Zealand residential property is NZD $10 million or more: NZD $5 million for the qualifying direct investment, plus a further NZD $5 million or more for the residential property acquisition.
